If you are bored with a grey wall which doesn’t integrate to the landscape, why not create a green wall?
Biodiversity exists everywhere, even on your own small wall. At Gravetye, we let the moss and plants hang on our walls, particularly along the sunken path. Not only does it look interesting, but will create shelter for insects. Try using daisies, ferns and garden violet, or experiment with strawberries and primroses.
The composition will vary depending on the position of your wall, and levels of sun and shade can vary along the same wall which is interesting. Moss prefers a northerly position.
So be creative, and create your own green wall…
