Nicotiana Mutabilis

Nicotiana is from South America and is grown as a Summer annual in this country. Compared to other Nicotiana species, Mutabilis has a longer flowering season which can stretch out until the end of October.

At Gravetye, it can be found throughout the Flower Garden, Long Border and the Little Garden. It is the variable pink flowers which gives the plant its Latin name, Mutabilis, which means variable. The beautiful tones of the delicate pink flowers intermingle so elegantly with the other plants, its become irresistible to use
