Plant of the Week

Mahonia ‘Soft Caress’ is a stunning small evergreen shrub nestled in our Flower Garden.

An unusual cultivar of Mahonia, as the leaves are completely free of spines, giving us a more elegant form through the seasons.

Dainty yellow buds start to appear in late September. Once open, the blooms produce a soft honey scent that gives way to spherical blue/black berries, attracting birds to the garden during winter months and providing our guests with beautiful autumn and winter interest.

Soft caress’ is one of the smaller Mahonias and won’t reach more than 1.2meters. It can withstand shade or partial shade and is ideal for borders or if you have a small garden.
