We’ve had some blustery weather conditions over the last week which have caused damage to the glass in the cold frames. Part of our duties is to replace and refresh broken panels. We cut the glass by hand as all the frames are slightly different sizes. This is to a Victoria template which has a dipping bow in the centre, this allows water to gather in the middle creating a stream which avoids the outer wooden frames. Putty is then laid inside the frame and the glass is placed in panels and then tacked into place with glazing pins.
